An Update and a Little Background for Navigating the Website
The idea for this website came from my photography teacher Elyse Shapiro at a class that I took with her at the Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan in the winter of 2014. She has her website with pages that focus on specific photographic interests.. So, I have adapted her concept for displaying photography from my view. The purpose is to display some of my photos for your viewing pleasure using my website on iPage.com and the software of choice, Weebly Drag and Drop Builder. I intend to make this a dynamic photo collection by adding or changing the photos often. I primarily use the Image, Gallery and Slideshow Formats provided by the Weebly software. Using this site as an avenue to explore my own writing was a goal from the very beginning of the site; and, as you will find, complements every photographic presentation on the site.
It is now over nine years since I began this site with this Home Page. I have tried very hard to stick to my primary purpose.. Many postings have come and gone since the spring of 2014, and I have added some new pages along the way. I had to come to terms with the fact that the only person who may ever look at this website in detail may be yours truly--and I have accepted those terms. This is a retirement hobby of mine, not unlike building furniture in the basement or playing golf every day. I have chosen this medium to display whatever creativity that I possess, and it has been a satisfying venture for me. For those who choose to delve into the site, I thank you. I hope the experience may have caused you to vicariously experience some of my joyful pursuits in the last decade of my life.
The site includes several theme based pages: Travel, Portraits of Life, Flowers, Landscapes, Photos of Interest, Haiku, etc. Travel is the most extensive page. I used it as a single page title in 2014, but since then I have created sub pages for specific trips. There are two segments employing the Blog Format provided by the Weebly software. I used the Blog Format for my trip in 2015 across the northern midwest of this country, which can be found in Travel. Three years ago, I took two international trips back to back, the first to County Donegal and the second to the Danube River. I have also added a password protected new page called "Reflections." This page includes personal writings that I may open up to everyone at a future time. After the election in 2016, I started a Political Commentary, but I have also password protected that site. I have recently added several more password protected sites. I indicate those protected sites in the list of contents above.
This page is an introduction to the website and is intended to give a little bit of information about me and to show you samples of past work in a slideshow format.
I am a retired public school educator who taught in the classroom, served as a high school principal, held a position of a district level curriculum coordinator, and spent several years of my retirement as an adjunct and assistant professor in the Educational Leadership Program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. I thoroughly enjoyed my career as an educator and have found a way to continue my involvement as a past member of the Connecticut State Board of Education (2007-11) and as a member of a local school board in Connecticut (2013-17).
I am now on the other side of eighty years old and trying. to keep my energy flowing for this site. I have thoroughly enjoyed investing some of my retirement time to my creative interests in photography and the written word, using these marvelous and user friendly website technologies. You will note that I have experimented with different ways to signify ownership of my photos, but at this point, nine years after the start, I am content with saying all the photos are in my possession and over 95% taken by me. Obviously, photos where I appear in the photo and it is not a selfie, the photo was taken by a friend or a friendly passerby. I hope that you enjoy what you see and read on these pages and that you will return from time to time to look again.

A Christmas Card from 2016 to the Present
After viewing one or more pages of this site, please feel free to ask questions or comment on any of the other pages or on specific photos on this Website. All the photos were taken by me, except for some of those photos where I appear in the photo, with the exception of "selfies." Where possible, I will try to indicate an actual or anonymous photographer when I did not take the photo. However, except for a very few photos, only my cameras and my iPhone were used.
