Entry: December 4, 2015: Another Little One on the Way
On Sunday, November 29th, Gina, Joe, Jacob and I traveled to Harrybrooke Park in New Milford, CT to document that Gina is in the beginning of her third trimester of expecting a little sister or brother for Jacob, probably the former. I strongly believe that these vignettes I share on this site about the developing life of my children and grandchildren constitute the events that are of the highest importance in the scheme of my life and legacy. I will continue to celebrate the life of Jacob and his new sibling on these pages. I will do the same for the five other grandchildren who can be found on this page and others on this Website. The medium will generally be photographic portfolios with captions strategically placed to help tell the stories mostly portrayed by the photos. With that in mind, here are several of the photos we took that day in the park and in the living room of Gina and Joe's home, already decorated with the spirit of Christmas and in anticipation of Jacob's first birthday party on December 6.

Entry: November 13, 2015: Jacob's First Halloween
The following Photo Portfolio provides a photographic story of Jacob's first Halloween visit to my place prior to traveling on to Bristol, CT to "Trick or Treat" with Joe's family. It was a fun afternoon. I was responsible for purchasing the Tigger costume for Jacob, which made me quite happy. Joe furnished the wagon for our visits to the back and front yards of my humble abode and the walk around the block to see the large balloon animals on display near my home. Later that night, I would welcome about 90 goblins at my front door, but this was the highlight of my day.

Entry: June 9, 2015: Jacob Anthony Coscina, the First Six Months and Baptism
On Saturday, June 6, Jacob was six months old. He is a happy little guy who spends much more time smiling than crying. Oh, he can cry up a storm when he needs a bottle, or a change, or just some attention; but what a thrill it is for this Grandpa to see the broad smile on his face when he looks directly at me. That being said, he does appear to smile at just about anyone who smiles at him. He loves to jump up and down when I hold him with his feet grounded on the top of my thighs. He has certainly put on weight since that first day of life in December. He eats well and has developed into a little man with lots of personality. The photos I have included below have been shot by his parents and by me. I give credit to Gina or Joe for the original shots. In the first set of photos, you will note that most of the photos are by them. Any digital processing has been done by me. The purpose of this series of photos is to show his development from the photos taken last Christmas to the present.
This past Saturday, the priest at our local church baptized Jacob, which was followed by a small family gathering on the patio of my home. The second set of photos displays various moments before, during, and after Jacob's Baptism. Unfortunately, I did not take photos during the afternoon festivities because I was busy cooking and attending to guests. I am hopeful of obtaining a few photos from others documenting our small celebration. In any event we had a great time and the weather was a cooperative friend.

Entry: January 9, 2015: The Birth of Jacob Anthony and Month # 1
It was at 9:48 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2014, that Jacob Anthony entered the world with a loud cry of joy. We all had tears in our eyes. Gina and Joe were ecstatic. Joe's mom and I were allowed to be present for the birth and we were overwhelmed. The first month of Jacob's life has been filled with many special moments for me. I have been able to visit him often and hold him for extended periods of time. He likes to sleep nestled in my arms; and at least at this point, I have been quite successful in calming him down when he gets a bit fussy. I am not a diaper changing expert yet, but I trust that will come. Gina and Joe are great parents; and Jacob's protectors, Minnie and Casey, are quick to check out anyone who pays attention to him. We have had our first Christmas with Jacob and I have included several photos of his first encounter with this special time of year. The placement of this portfolio is appropriately set after the photos I took of Gina and Joe at Lover's Leap Park in New Milford in the 7th month of pregnancy. Needless to say, this entire process has been a great joy for me. I wish Terry was here to hold and nurture little Jacob. She did a marvelous job of raising Gina, who is now a new Mother for the ages. Enjoy the first of many photos to come.

On Sunday, October 6, my daughter, Gina, and her husband, Joe, requested that I shoot some photos of her and them together to celebrate their expectation for a new baby. They chose the woods and natural setting of Lover's Leap Park in New Milford. We did not hike to the top of Lover's Leap, but rather shot numerous photos in the woods and on the bridge that partially define this beautiful park in New Milford. I am using the "Slideshow" element with only a few captions on photos where it can help to explain the context. For the most part, I am letting the photos tell the story.

I spent a couple of days last week visiting my son and his family in Bedford, MA. On Friday, we spent time together and I spend some time alone in Boston. I took many photos that I may share on one of these pages; but I want to post several photos of my five year old grandson, Andrew, playing soccer on a beautiful Saturday morning in Bedford. I am using a slide show format for the following photos. I have post processed them in Lightroom in preparation to sending them to my son and daughter-in-law.

Below is a series of two photos modified from the original color photo taken on an early morning walk in Ennis, Ireland this past summer. I was intrigued by the fact that the workers were high up on ladders at 7:30 AM. Perhaps they wanted to beat the crowded street that would become a reality later in the morning. I snapped the shot because to me it was a slice of working life on an older building in this quaint Irish town. The first photo is the one that I took in color. I then modified the photo in Lightroom to get the black and white effect. I did not use a BW preset. However, I did use the Creamtone Preset in Lightroom for the third photo. I am adding a small photo gallery focusing on a photo that I took of turtles resting on a rock (named Turtle Rock) and located in Ball Pond, a small lake not too far from where I live. I experimented with different croppings and treatments of the same photo. Click on the photo for a fully formatted presentation.

Newport, Rhode Island Visit to Family
I spent a couple of days visiting my son, Scott, his wife, Carolina, and two of my grandchildren, Marcus and Andrew. Sophia was in New Hampshire with a friend, so I was not able to see her or include her in the photos below. Rather than annotate the photos, let me summarize the information. The beach is located near their home. The dogs' names are Cooper (Dad), Nila (Mom), and Paco (Son). I cannot tell the difference between them and I do not try. I attempted to sequence the photos with multiple members of the family first, individual shots of Carolina, Scott, Andrew, and Marcus follow. I hope that is all of the explanation that is needed. I had a really nice time on this Memorial Day weekend.
